This is a small author website. It collects very little, and this page says exactly what.
Who runs this site
This website, linneabirch.com, belongs to the author Linnea Birch, whose books are published by Hollow Tide Press. When this policy says “I” or “me”, that is who it means. You can reach me at hello@linneabirch.com.
What I collect, and why
The newsletter and the free novella
If you ask for the free novella or join the newsletter, you give your email address to BookFunnel, which delivers the book, and it is passed to EmailOctopus, which sends the newsletter. I use the address only to send you the book, the short welcome notes, and roughly one email a month about the books. The legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email, or by writing to me, and your address stops receiving mail straight away.
Emails you send me
If you write to me, I keep your message and your address so that I can reply. I do not add you to the newsletter unless you ask.
This website
The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like every web host, its servers record basic technical information such as IP addresses in their logs, to keep the site secure and working. This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The cookies it does use, and your choices about them, are set out in the cookie policy and the consent banner.
Links to shops
Links to Amazon and other retailers take you to their own websites, which have their own privacy policies. I do not receive any personal information from them.
Who else sees your information
Linnea Birch and Hollow Tide Press operate from Quebec, Canada. Every service named here is based outside Quebec and outside Canada, so your email address is stored and processed outside Quebec. If you would rather it were not, please do not subscribe, or write to me and I will remove it. BookFunnel (United States) delivers the free book. EmailOctopus (United Kingdom) stores the mailing list and sends the emails. Hostinger hosts the website. Each of them processes information on my behalf and under their own data protection terms. I never sell, rent or share your address with anyone else.
How long I keep it
Your email address stays on the list until you unsubscribe or ask me to remove it. Emails you send me are kept for as long as the conversation needs them.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it is used. Write to hello@linneabirch.com and I will answer within a month. If you are in the UK or the European Union you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
This site and its newsletter are meant for adult readers and are not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear here with a new date. Last updated 11 September 2026.
